Training on CVR/FDRs Now Available for Maintenance Personnel

We’ve released new training for aviation maintenance personnel. CVR/FDR Maintenance covers maintenance and troubleshooting procedures for CVR/FDRs.

The course was developed by Bob Rorison, who in his extensive career has served as Director of Maintenance and Chief of Maintenance for various corporate aircraft operators. As well as reviewing historical and technical information, the topic emphasizes the importance of the CVR/FDR in contributing to the overall safety of the industry. Subtopics include:

• Definition and role of CVR/FDRs;
• Legislation for their operation/modification;
• CVR/FDR troubleshooting; and
• Other types of flight recorders.
