At TrainingPort.net, we are often praised on the high production value of our online lessons. Instead of relying on stock video libraries or generic templates, we build our content in house using a skilled team of writers, photographers, and graphic artists. Here’s a look at what went on behind the scenes as our production team worked on our Maintenance Resource Management (MRM) course.
To create one of our training topics, a technical or subject matter expert works with our in-house writing department to organize the material into lessons, and develop visual concepts for the graphics and media. Subsequently, we schedule photo shoots, staging specific scenarios to create unique, in-house media for our training. MRM was no exception, and after securing permission to shoot in a nearby hangar, our photographers went to work.
As per custom, our senior technical advisors supervised and guided the process of composing mock maintenance tasks for our video-based content. Our technical advisor also modelled any specific tasks that required his expertise. At the end of the photo shoot, the photographers and graphics team compiled the hundreds of photos and video clips, narrowed them down to the best ones, and forwarded them to the writing department to incorporate.
The writing department edits the content to ensure both clarity and coherency, incorporates the technical advisor’s recommendations, and writes the video scripts and exams. Relying on close correspondence and support received from our senior technical advisors, TrainingPort.net is diligent in ensuring the technical integrity of the content. Once the MRM lessons and exams were revised, and all media incorporated, they were sent to the technical advisor for review.
If there are any concerns, the technical advisor will inform the writing and/or graphics department and make requests for specific edits. Once these edits were incorporated, MRM was reviewed by a senior executive. By the end of production, MRM was revised many times to ensure that the content was of the highest quality.
By ensuring that the information is up to date, technically accurate, and always fresh with innovative, in-house graphics, TrainingPort.net delivers simple, reliable, and engaging lessons.
