Scott Macpherson, Founder & President of TrainingPort.net, has been a pilot and manager in corporate aviation for over 30 years, most recently flying a Falcon 900LX. Scott’s flight department was the first IS-BAO registered operator, and he continues to be a strong supporter of the standard. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Business Aviation Association (CBAA) and as the Chairman of the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) governing board. Scott is a great mentor figure in the business aviation world, and his safety-first approach to aviation training played a key role in his motivation to start TrainingPort.net, business aviation’s first comprehensive online training solution.

Bryan Barratt

Chief Executive Officer

Bryan is TrainingPort.net’s CEO. With his expertise providing coaching and consulting services to Entrepreneurs & Executives, and many years as Senior Manager and Executive for large multinationals, Bryan brings a unique perspective to leading TrainingPort.

Believing in every team member’s role to drive success, he strives to make business simple, facilitate clear communication, and achieve alignment to drive overall company success, for both our valued Clients, Partners, and TrainingPort.

Laurie Bristow

Chief Financial Officer

Laurie oversees the finance, accounting and reporting function for TrainingPort.net. He is a Chartered Accountant with over 25 years of experience in a variety of business sectors and senior roles, including VP – Finance & Administration. He has worked with companies both large and small, gaining extensive experience in, among other things, strategic planning, financial and risk management, and human resources.

Colin Joe

Colin lives and breathes technology. His role at TrainingPort.net is to provide sound technical leadership for all business activities in the company. Colin contributes his extensive experience into crafting cohesive strategies to help leverage technology for the benefit and security of our customers. As a great communicator and experienced project manager, Colin often provides guidance to his colleagues on the secrets of successful planning and execution of projects and educates them about the industry’s technological trends and best practices.

Nik Chapman

Creative & Technical Lead

Nik is the company “standard bearer” and is dedicated to maintaining TrainingPort.net’s compliance requirements; he is considered our government regulations guru. Along with Scott, Nik helped build and shape TrainingPort.net into the innovative learning hub that it is now. He has been instrumental in setting standards for the business aviation training experience and in pushing the training expectations of the industry. Nik has held various leadership positions at TrainingPort.net over the years, and he combines this with active field experience as a Chief Pilot and Operations Manager.

Farah Faruqi

Canada Sales & Marketing Manager

Farah is our virtuoso of client relations with 30 years of experience behind her belt. Her professionalism and profound knowledge of the business aviation industry is reinforced by her flight support work in large scale global events such as the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics and the 2012 London Summer Olympics.

Her role at TrainingPort.net is to provide custom training solutions to our Canadian Operators. Farah often collaborates with other departments, consultants, technical advisors, and subject matter experts to craft a complete and cohesive experience for prospective and existing customers. Farah is the de facto representative at most of our trade show events in North America, and she also travels to meet our clients in person.

Brent Fishlock

Brent is one of the most well-rounded professionals at TrainingPort.net. Years of educational, managerial, and hands-on flying experience make Brent a great Technical Advisor Lead and content contributor. He ensures that all new regulations are properly addressed with Trainingport.net training and that our existing training is always up-to-date. An enthusiastic and efficient thinker, Brent goes above and beyond to educate and provide valuable consultation services to business aviation professionals. As a currently active pilot flying Boeing 737 jets, Brent shares a lot of interesting anecdotes, discusses current events in the aviation world, and highlights relevant subjects in our podcast series, Training{Re}Port.

Brian Laird

Brian has spent the last decade working with part 91 & 135 flight departments on their training and safety programs.  He is intimately familiar with FAA regulations as well as IS-BAO guidance.  Based in Melbourne, FL, Brian runs point on all aspects of TrainingPort.net’s business in the U.S. market and is the single point of contact for all U.S. clients. He serves the local business aviation community as the Chairman of the Safety Committee for the Central Florida Business Aviation Association (CFBAA.)

Every office needs someone with endless positive energy and enthusiasm to help get things done, and as our Sales Coordinator, Hannah tirelessly works behind the scenes to organize events, coordinate tradeshows, respond to customer inquires, manage our social media, and the list goes on. She also participates in TrainingPort.net’s marketing and design teams, giving input and feedback during corporate strategy meetings. Hannah occasionally acts as TrainingPort.net’s promotional cover model and is often featured in our videos and print material.

Mary Watt

Mary is an experienced instructional designer, project manager, and educational technology strategist. Over 20 years she has worked with teams crafting a wide range of blended and flexible learning programs from university continuing education programs to museum experiences. She has an M.Ed. specializing in technology-enhanced learning with experience in many learning management systems and learning methodologies.

Mary works with TrainingPort.net to incorporate evidence-informed learning design into their training to create efficient and advanced learning experiences for the business aviation industry.

Melissa White

Sales and Executive Assistant

As our Sales and Executive Assistant, Melissa has stepped in during Hannah’s maternity leave to do all of the behind the scenes work that keeps our office running, including responding to customer inquiries, coordinating trade shows, managing our social media and providing administrative support to our executive team. With an eye for detail and a passion for problem-solving, she comes to us with experience in retail and the non-profit sector and is excited to learn more about the aviation industry.
