Achieving and Maintaining Currency Through TrainingPort.net

Author: Scott Macpherson

In most regulatory regimes, operators’ pilots are required to complete their training program before carrying passengers. TrainingPort.net can ensure that your pilots achieve and maintain currency.

If you hire a trainee who is already in our system, the only thing to do is to add the topics they have not covered with previous operators on our system. They can then work ahead to complete the new topics to become current under your program.

If the pilot has not trained on our system, they will need good training records and proof of what was covered and tested in their training (for audit purposes). Their previous training should have covered syllabus items required for your operation, and any type- or company-specific items. If they have covered these requirements, we just need the trainee’s due dates and the system will ensure currency from there on.

If the trainee cannot prove that they’ve completed their training, or they do not come with training records (this is quite common since other operators fear critique), then they will have to go through what we call a “Start Up” program, which has a one-time extra charge. This gets the trainee up to a clean, ‘zero time’ starting point. The system will keep them current from then on by immediately starting their training on a recurrent basis.
